The Sunbury Metal Detecting Club is a friendly, family-oriented not-for-profit for anyone who loves gold prospecting, coin and relic hunting, and getting out into Victoria's goldfields. Members range from complete beginners to seasoned detectorists - everyone is welcome.

From flakes of gold to old coins and relics - members chase it all, and love helping newcomers get started.

Membership is $60 a year for a single and $80 for a family, and the fees help keep the club and its camp-outs running.

Changes to Victorian Miner’s Right Fees from January 2027
Victorian prospectors will see an increase in the cost of a Miner’s Right from 1 January 2027, as part of changes to fees across Victoria’s resources sector. The cost of a 10-year Miner’s Right is expected to increase by around $12, representing an increase of approximately 40% on the current fee.
